Roleplaying F.A.Q's

Okay. If we\'re going to have a Roleplaying forum, then we need to have a thread where people who don\'t know how to properly roleplay, can learn how.

Firstly, ALWAYS type out all words, with complete grammar and punctuation. This makes it easier for your fellow RPer\'s to understand what you are saying, and for the readers to understand as well. It\'s not that hard, just a few more keystrokes.

Secondly, do not take control of other people\'s characters. It\'s just rude. :X

Thirdly, if you are in a RP with fighting involved, be sure not to godmod the fight. An example of such an action would be:

Quote :

The sniper smiled devilishly as he shot the monster a hundred times in the head with arrows, killing it instantly.

This gives the person no chance to respond, and their character is now dead. Y\'know?

Lastly, ADD DETAILS! Describe the areas in which you are exploring, describe the actions of your characters. Describe everything and anything. It makes the experience better for everyone. <:

Oh yeah. It\'s common courtesy to put some kind of notification when you are talking out of character. Some examples that are commonly used are putting OOC: in front of what you are going to say, and then BIC: when you are talking in character again. Some people use double parentheses to serve this purpose as well.

Example:

Quote :

OOC: Hey everyone!

BIC: The lone wolf jumped down from the cliff, bounding off each rock as it went with its strong legs.

OR

Quote :

((Hey everyone!))

The lone wolf jumped down from the cliff, bounding off each rock as it went with its strong legs.
